I really like Dan's descriptions of our periodic DnD sessions. Here is the latest...
We left the Monastery to cross the mountains, on the 3rd or 4th day of our
trip we ran into a man running form some winter wolfs (8 feet long with a
freezing breath weapon) screaming they had just attacked his caravan. We
kill the two wolfs and turn to the guy the wolfs were chasing. The guy then
turns into the Ogre Magi that we had fought at the castle. We kill him. The
party is pretty banged up and Willie was negative. We skin the wolfs, heal
up and head out again. About a mile or two down the path we see a wagon and
some dead torn apart people. Three more winter wolfs attack this time Willie
goes to negative 9. We heal up and make camp. I don't know what the next
monster that attacked is called. It has the body of a bird and a head of a
rain deer with horns. Three of those attacked the party we killed two. the
third carried off Anachron. Feng tried to follow but eventually had to give
up because the terrain slowed him down to a move of 25. We started to pack
up camp so at dawn we could try and find Anachron. After the beasty brought
Anachron to his nest. Anachron was able to change into a bird and fly away.
As an eagle he could fly 3 times faster than the monster and eventually lost
it. He makes it back to camp as we are ready to head out. We start traveling
again and come across 2 whites and 10 ghouls. Mantrias roles miserable on
his turn check and gets minus 3 levels. You rolled so low the ghouls ignored
you. At which point one hits you and paralyses you. Eventually we beat the
nasties without loosing a level. The party has gotten the shit kicked out of
it and we are at the point of no return 5 days in and its a 10 day trip.
When we get to the other side we have 5 winter wolf skins and two of the
other beasties pelts to sell.
I'm thinking a frost giant or two could be in our future or maybe one of the
snow worms. Feng and Willie have gone up in level. Feng's 7th level and
Willie's 4th level, the rest of the group needs about 1650XP before going
up.
